embossed blog cards

So, a couple of weeks ago I won a really fun giveaway at 30 Days - a custom hand-lettered stamp by the Letter Girl!   Since I am a renter, I decided to have a stamp made of my blog address instead of my mailing address.

It came today:

How fun is that?

As soon as the babies fell asleep, I dusted off my old stamp supplies and made some blog cards.

Have you ever done embossing with a heat tool and powder?  I hadn't done it since I was in high school, but I happened to have all the stuff in my craft stash.  The tool looks like this:

And then you also need a stamp pad, embossing powder, and the stamp of your choice.

You stamp your paper, and quickly pour the powder over the design before the ink dries.

Then dust off the excess powder ...

And use the heat tool to melt the remaining powder.

The resulting design has a nice raised effect, and if you use a metallic powder, kind of shimmery.

My favorite card was made using purple ink and a translucent powder - the gold was a little too blingy for me (especially on that crazy paper).  Nice and simple.

To be honest ... I don't have much use for blog cards.  Occasionally someone finds out I blog and wants the address, so it will be handy to have a few of these stashed in my wallet.  But it is not that frequent of an occurance.

So my question for you is ... what ELSE can I do with my fantastic new stamp?  :)
